Our Practice

Patients at Aurora Healthcare are encouraged to be active participants in their healthcare through open dialogue, a user-friendly patient portal, and choosing if they wish to be seen through traditional and non-traditional means. Our patients range in age from birth to 100, and we are proud to offer an equally wide range of flexible payment types including most health insurances and cash options for uninsured patients. As a private practice not affiliated with a particular hospital, we have the freedom to refer our patients to the specialists best suited for them regardless of the specialists' network affiliation. Complying by our mission statement; we not only give you time to discuss your concerns with your provider in a non-rushed setting, we offer old fashioned home visits and in-office visits while expanding with the everchanging future of healthcare by offering telehealth and virtual visits.

  • Urgent Care Provider

My name is Cheryl Smith. Born and raised in the State of Maine, I learned the values of dedication and hard work growing up on a small, family farm, which was also the catalyst in developing my passion for the care of others where every member of the family played a crucial role, and we all relied on and cared for each other. From a young age, this demonstrated care for others, hard work, and parents who stressed the importance of an education, developed the ethos and principles that have helped guide and shape both my personal and professional life.

Following my secondary education, my post-secondary accomplishments include the completion of Respiratory Therapy studies at KVCC, at Uinversity of Maine at Augusta, Bachelor of Applied Science, a Bachelors in Nursing from Purdue Global University, and finally graduating with Acute Care Acute Geriatric Care Nurse Practitioner, from Walden University . Most of my studies were accomplished while working in healthcare care roles that included nineteen years as a Respiratory Therapist, a nurse med/surg with Maine General, before finding my current role with Maine General Urology; as a Nurse Practitioner.

Outside of work, I dedicate my time to my two children, always seeking out new adventures and traveling when school and extracurricular schedules permit. I consider myself a bit a “foodie,” and always welcome the sampling of new and different cuisines. During my rare down time, I enjoy reading and exercise.

My eyes are always open to new adventures and challenges, and am looking forward to the new chapter with Aurora Healthcare; Urgent Care. I always endeavor to provide the same energy and dedication to anything I commit to, and look forward learning new skills and meeting new co-workers and patients alike. I’m excited for this new phase of my career!

  • RN

I was born and raised in Maine and currently live in Madison. I started my career as a CNA at Maine General in the Student Nurse Internship in 2022 and graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2023. Right out of nursing school I worked on a med/surg oncology floor at Maine General in Augusta where I developed a love for oncology care. I then transitioned to home hospice care for a short time which I thoroughly enjoyed. I love to build relationships with my patients and become someone they can confide in, which is what lead me to primary care. I always strive to provide the best care possible for my patients, and hope that I am able to make a difference in their lives.

Outside of work, I am a dog and cat mom. I also was an athlete up until this year, playing basketball for 18 years including during my college years. This sport has always been an important part of my life and secondary to nursing, my biggest passion. I love to be active and I am always looking to explore new parts of our beautiful state!

I look forward to meeting all of you in the office :)

  • Radiology Tech

I started my medical career in 2017 when I became a CNA. From there I continued my education and became a Radiology tech in 2020, where I graduated from EMCC. For the last 3 years I have worked in a hospital setting taking care of a broad spectrum of patients.

Outside of work I am a wife, and mom to a beautiful little boy; and if that doesn’t keep me busy enough, I own an embroidery business.

I look forward to taking care of and getting to know you!
