Cheryl Smith
My name is Cheryl Smith. Born and raised in the State of Maine, I learned the values of dedication
and hard work growing up on a small, family farm, which was also the catalyst in developing my
passion for the care of others where every member of the family played a crucial role, and we all
relied on and cared for each other. From a young age, this demonstrated care for others, hard work,
and parents who stressed the importance of an education, developed the ethos and principles that
have helped guide and shape both my personal and professional life.
Following my secondary education, my post-secondary accomplishments include the completion of Respiratory
Therapy studies at KVCC, at Uinversity of Maine at Augusta, Bachelor of Applied Science, a Bachelors in
Nursing from Purdue Global University, and finally graduating with Acute Care Acute Geriatric Care Nurse
Practitioner, from Walden University . Most of my studies were accomplished while working in healthcare
care roles that included nineteen years as a Respiratory Therapist, a nurse med/surg with Maine General,
before finding my current role with Maine General Urology; as a Nurse Practitioner.
Outside of work, I dedicate my time to my two children, always seeking out new adventures and traveling
when school and extracurricular schedules permit. I consider myself a bit a “foodie,” and always welcome
the sampling of new and different cuisines. During my rare down time, I enjoy reading and exercise.
My eyes are always open to new adventures and challenges, and am looking forward to the new chapter with
Aurora Healthcare; Urgent Care. I always endeavor to provide the same energy and dedication to anything
I commit to, and look forward learning new skills and meeting new co-workers and patients alike. I’m
excited for this new phase of my career!
